Don Corleone( Marlon Brando), jefe familiar comienza a adueñarse de las calles de la ciudad llegando a construir un verdadero imperio. Se destacan las participaciones de Al Pacino( Michael Corleone) y Diane Keaton ( Kay Adams, esposa de Michael)

La trama se estrena en marzo de 1972, dirigida por el gran maestro Francis Ford Coppola. ganadora al año siguiente de 3 premios de la Academia.
